Borgward, the German automobile manufacturer was founded in the year 1929 by Carl F.W. Borgward. Although, the company pioneered technical novelties in the German market such as air suspension and automatic transmission, it ceased operations in the sixties due to trouble competing in the market.

After a gap of almost 55 years, in 2015 the company introduced Bogward BX7 SUV at the Internatonal Motor Show in Frankfurt.
