Large cranes and bulldozers tried on Saturday to lift the last remaining coach that rescuers have not reached yet among the strewn and mangled wreckage of three trains that rammed into each other in rapid sequence in Odisha's Balasore district, officials said. The accident on Friday night killed at least 261 people and injured nearly 1,000 in one of the worst railway tragedies of the country. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said a detailed high-level inquiry will be conducted and the rail safety commissioner will also do an independent inquiry. He said rescue operation has been completed and restoration work has started.
