Yes it's time we humans be advanced enough to break the Scientific codes of "Love" - the most precious but complicated feeling ever felt. And what better time for it than a Valentine's Day!!

This recent study conducted by the Syracuse University taking EEG images and analysis of the brain and various body activities among couples held in love brings extraordinary results.

The research fore-mostly revealed that "falling in love" is a process that elicits the same euphoria in the body as induced by consuming the drug - cocaine.!!

Actually, love is something that is much more powerful than the millionaire's drug - because it takes a time span less than a cocaine-snort to kick in - perhaps one-fifth of a second.

The results of the research that came published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, notes that when a man is in love, almost over 12 areas of the brain will start working in tandem to release euphoria-inducing chemicals such as dopamine, oxytocin, adrenaline and vasopressin.

This reading will then automatically lead us to the next doubt - So is it the brain that makes us feel love? Or the heart? - a cute, complicated question in the minds of millions of love-infected couples to which Professor Stephanie Ortigue replies: "That's a tricky question always," says Ortigue. "I would say (on a first thought) the brain, but the heart is also related because the complex concept of love is formed by both bottom-up and top-down processes from the brain to the heart and vice versa."

She explains this citing how the most-common "butterfly in the stomach" sensation, which all of us has felt one time or the other in our life is a result of activation of the brain.

LOVE at FIRST SIGHT - a probable finding/explanation

The study further found that among "couples who have just fallen in love", body levels of Nerve growth factor or say NGF, which plays an important role in determining the social chemistry among humans, were found to be significantly high.

"These results confirm love has a scientific basis," says Ortigue.

The findings have major implications for neuroscience and mental health research.

The pangs and pains of poor love-infected boys and girls (men and women too) are strong enough to push them into emotional stress and depression. These scientific findings about love can now give a better picture to doctors and therapists while handling broken hearts.

Different parts of Brain for "different" kinds of Love

Advanced EEG images of brain activity from the study has brought in a remarkably intriguing result as well – that there are specific, different parts of the brain that are meant to cause the “different kinds of love”.

For example, “unconditional love”, such as that between a mother and a child, is sparked by the common and different brain areas, mainly the middle of the brain.

“Passionate love” felt between soulmates or couples is sparked by the “reward part” of the brain.

The associative cognitive brain areas, that have higher-order cognitive functions also plays an important role.

So this Valentine’s Day it seems what we are after, is perhaps the strongest drug the Almighty has ever created - the scent of Love.!!
